The Traffic Department of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 2,089 cases for traffic rule violations during a special drive conducted across the capital.

During the drive 79 vehicles were dumped, and 52 others were towed for obstructing traffic or failing to comply with legal requirements, said Deputy Commissioner ( media) of DMP Talebur Rahman, reports UNB.
The drive were conducted on Sunday by eight traffic divisions of the DMP to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s congested roads and reduce accidents caused by reckless driving, illegal parking, and other violations.

The DMP urged commuters and drivers to strictly adhere to traffic laws to ensure smooth movement on the city’s roads. Similar operations will continue in the coming days, the official added.
