Awami League leader arrested in Kurigram

Police arrested Awami League leader Rafiqul Islam in Roumari, Kurigram, in a case of extortion and assaulting teachers and employees.

The rresteded was sent to Kurigram court at 9 am on Monday (January 13). Earlier, on Sunday (January 12), at 5 pm, he was arrested by the Roumari police from the food warehouse area of Roumari upazila town. Rafiqul Islam is the organizing secretary of the Upazila Awami League.
Roumari Police Station sub-inspector (SI) and investigation officer of the case Shahadat Hossain confirmed this information.
