DU female students launch 'Shelter in VC's Bungalow' protest

Female students at Dhaka University (DU) have announced a programme titled 'Shelter in VC's Bungalow' to address the acute housing crisis they face. Scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday (January 14), the protest will take place in front of the Vice-Chancellor's residence and continue until their demands are met.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) on Sunday. Ishrat Jahan Imu, a student of the Management and Information Systems Department, spoke on behalf of the protesters: "During our discussion with the administration on January 2, we presented seven key demands.
These include renting buildings as temporary hostels, eliminating overcrowded common rooms, and ensuring that new halls are built on the main campus."
