The arrestees were Md Rubel, 28, Shafiq alias Sohel, 35, and Saddam Hossain, 31.
Mohammad Nasirul Islam, joint police commissioner (DB South) of DMP, shared the information at a press briefing held at the DMP Media Centre on Sunday.

He said detectives conducted drives in Companyganj and Muradnagar areas of Cumilla district from January 9 to January 11 and arrested the accused with stolen gold ornaments, weighing around 50.8 tola, worth about Tk 70 lakh.

The investigation and operation are continuing to arrest other members of the gang and recover the remaining stolen gold ornaments, he added.
