Body of RUET student recovered from a mess

A student of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) student has been found hanging at a mess in Rajshahi city's Fudkipara area.

Police around 11PM on Friday recovered the body from a student mess getting information.

Deceased Mehdi Hasan was a student of the Urban and Regional Planning (URP) department at RUET of the 2018-19 academic batch, OC Mehdi Masud of Boalia Police Station confirmed.

He said that it is suspected that the student might have committed suicide. However, the exact cause of death remains unclear. The body has been sent to the morgue at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

His family has been informed. Once they came, legal proceedings will be taken as per their decision and the body will be handed over, the OC added.
