146 illegal structures demolished in Natore

NATORE, Jan 10: Department of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) demolished 146 illegal shops and establishments from footpaths of main roads in the district town on Wednesday.

The demolition drive was jointly led by Forhad Hassan, executive magistrate of the district administration and Quamrul Hassan, executive engineer of RHD-Natore.
During the drive, officials and workers of the RHD were present.

Executive Engineer Quamrul Hassan said, some businessmen have been doing various businesses on both sides of the footpaths of the main road illegally for a long time.

They were warned several times through notice in this regard but they did not pay any attention, he added.

He further said, that is why, the drive was conducted.

Besides, some small shopkeepers said, they became looser financially for the action. They are now passing days in big trouble.
