Two die in truck-motorcycle collision amid thick fog in Cumilla

Two motorcyclists were killed and another person was injured after their vehicle collided head-on with a truck in Laksam Upazila of Cumilla on Thursday night due to dense fog.

The deceased was Tabarak Ullah Malu, 42, and Masud, 28, both from Laksam Upazila.

Mobarak Hossain Bhuiyan, the chief of Laksam Highway police Station, said that the accident occurred on Cumilla-Noakhali road in Bhaishkopia area on Thursday night when motorcycle collided head-on with the Noakhali-bound truck, leaving two dead on the spot and another person injured.

The injured was taken to the Laksam Upazila Health Complex.
The victims were returning home after taking part in a gathering in the night, he said adding that, they suspected that due to the thick fog, the two speedy vehicles collided head-on.

Police seized the truck, but its driver fled the spot, Mobarak added.
