Expatriate’s wife murdered at Nandigram

NANDIGRAM, BOGURA, Jan 4: The wife of an expatriate was brutally murdered in Nandigram Upazila of the district on Friday night.

The incident took place in Rustampur Village under Bhatra Union of the upazila.

Deceased Rawshan Ara, 55, was the wife of Malaysia expatriate Alef Ali.

Police and local sources said that Rawshan Ara used to live alone in the house. At around 10 am on Friday, she went to sleep.

Later on, neighbours found her blood-stained body lying on the floor of a veranda at around 7:30 am on Saturday and informed the matter to the police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Nandigram Police Station Tariqul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter.
