An exhibition of agricultural and handicraft products made by indigenous women was held on Monday as part of the "Economic Development Enhancement Project for Indigenous Women."
The day-long event, organized by Progressive, took place at Ashika Convention Center in the town.
The event featured a variety of products made by beneficiaries from Bilaichhari and Jurachhari upazilas of Rangamati district, highlighting their contributions to sustainable agriculture and traditional crafts.
The exhibition aimed to showcase the talent and hard work of indigenous women while promoting their economic development. Visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of items, including agricultural produce and unique handicrafts, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Awalin Khalek, Assistant Commissioner of Rangamati District Administration, attended the event as the chief guest. The exhibition was presided over by Advocate Sushmita Dewan, Advisor to the CHT Women Activist Forum.
Other notable attendees included Paban Kumar Chakma, project director of Economic Development Enhancement Project for Indigenous Women; Suchorita Chakma, executive director of Progressive Rangamati; and Shanti Bijoy Chakma, headman of Jurachhari Upazila.
