A teenager and a minor child were killed in separate road accidents in two districts - Chattogram and Feni, on Thursday and Friday.
CHATTOGRAM: A teenage boy was killed in a head-on collision between a battery-powered easy-bike and a CNG-run tempo in Boalkhali Upazila of the district on Friday.
The accident took place in Raykhali Bridge on the Arakan road of the upazila at around 5:30 am.
The deceased was identified as Saimon, 17, son of late Nur Kader, a resident of Charkhijirpur Village under Pashchim Gomdandi Union.
It was known that a battery-powered easy-bike was on its way from Shakpura to Gomdandi Fultal. On the way, it collided with a CNG-run tempo coming from the opposite direction, which left the driver of the easy-bike Saimon dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boalkhali Police Station (PS) Golam Sarwar confirmed the incident, saying that police seized the two vehicles involved in the accident and brought those to the PS.
However, legal action would be taken in this regard, the OC added.
GOPALGANJ: A minor boy was killed in a road accident in Sadar Upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The accident took place at Sharifpara under Gopinathpur Union of the upazila.
Deceased Hussain Molla, 5, was the son of Juwel Molla of the area.
Quoting locals, Gopalganj Sadar PS OC Meer Sajedur Rahman said that an engine-run easy-bike hit Hussain at night while he was crossing the road in front of his house, which left him critically injured.
The family members then rescued him and took to Gopalganj General Hospital, where the on-duty declared the child dead, the OC added.
