The online application process for the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations will begin on December 29 and continue till January 31 next year, according to the announcement of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
SM Matiur Rahman, public relations officer of the BPSC, confirmed the matter on Thursday.
BPSC announced the new date only two days after suspending the process, which was scheduled to start on December 10 and end on December 31.
On November 28, BPSC published the circular for the 47th BCS exams, announcing 3,487 cadres and 201 non-cadres will be recruited through this BCS.
To apply for the 47th BCS exams, the general aspirants would need to pay Tk 200 as fees while backward citizens would pay Tk 50 instead of Tk 100 as the application fee, according to the gazette notification of the Public Administration Ministry issued on Wednesday.
The government on Wednesday issued the gazette of amended 'Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Qualification and Direct Recruitment Examination) Rules, 2014' by increasing the maximum age to 32 years for appearing in the BCS examination and reducing the fees and marks of the oral examinations in accordance with its earlier decision.
The aspirants of the 47th BCS would also need to face oral tests of only 100 marks instead of 200 marks. As a result, the total number has been decreased from 1,100 to 1,000.
