The third round of Bangladesh Premier League football begins today (Friday) with two matches billed for the day at two separate venues across the country.
In the day's match, Fakirerpool Young Men's Club takes on Fortis Football Club at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur while Brothers Union Club meets Chittagong Abahani Limited in the second match of the day at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Both the matches kick off at 2:30 pm.
Earlier, Fakirerpool suffered a 2-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka in their league opening match and went down a 1-4 to Bangladesh Police Football Club in their second match.
Fortis also lost their league opening match conceding 1-3 defeat to Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society but they hold Brothers Union Club playing out to a 1-1 goal draw in their second match.
On the other hand, the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club beat Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals and split point with Fortis FC playing to a 1-1 goal draw in their second match.
The port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited lost both their previous league matches. They went down 7-0 to holders Bashundhara Kings and suffered 2-0 defeat to old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society.
On the following day on Saturday (Dec 14), Dhaka Wanderers Club will play against Bangladesh Police Football Club at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur, Mohammedan Sporting Club face their arch-rival Abahani Limited at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla and Bashundhara Kings meet Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Bashundhara Kings arena. —BSS
