Police arrested three individuals and recovered the body of a 10-year-old boy, who went missing four days ago in Feni, on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Ahnaf Al Main Nashit, son of one Main Uddin Sohag of Feni Academy area. He was a third-grade student at Feni Grammar School.
Feni Superintendent of Police (SP) Habibur Rahman at a press conference held on Thursday said that Ahnaf went missing on Monday while he was returning home from his private tuition.
Later, some unidentified individuals have called Ahnaf’s father Main Uddin and demanded Tk 12 lakh as ransom. Following the incident, Main filed a case with the Feni Model Police Station.
Police detained Ashraf Hossain Tushar, 20, during their investigation. Tusher confessed to the law enforcers about his involvement in the incident.
According the given information of Tushar, police recovered Ahnaf’s body from a pond near the Dewanganj railway line.
The body has been sent to the 250-bed Feni Model General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Mormo Singh Tripura, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni Model Police Station.
Meanwhile, police arrested two more suspects- Md Mobarak Hossain Washim, 20 and Omar Faruk, 20, in this connection.
