Ferry services have returned to normal on the Daulatdia-Paturia section of the southwest region after being closed for nearly 7 hours due to dense fog.

The services resumed at 10:10 am on Thursday (December 12) as the fog in the Padma basin reduced.
Earlier, the BIWTC authorities stopped ferry services at 3 am on Thursday as the fog continued to increase. At that time, two ferries carrying passengers and vehicles were stranded in the middle of the river.

Meanwhile, more than a hundred vehicles were stranded in a queue waiting to cross the river at the Daulatdia end of Rajbari due to the suspension of ferry services for 7 hours. As a result, passengers and drivers suffered from severe cold and icy winds.

BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Manager Salahuddin said that ferry services resumed at 10:10 am as the fog density decreased. Currently, 12 small and large ferries transport passengers and vehicles.
