Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam on Wednesday outlined a series of events to commemorate Shaheed Intellectuals' Day on December 14 and Victory Day on December 16.
However, there will be no traditional parade at the National Parade Square this year.
On December 14, President Md Sahabuddin and Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus will lay wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur, a ceremony that will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television and private TV channels.
Adviser Farooq E Azam will lead wreath-laying by the families of the martyrs and wounded freedom fighters at 7:22am at the memorial and later at the Rayerbazar mass killing field at 8:30am.
From 8:30am onwards, political and social organisations, as well as the general public, will also pay their respects by laying flowers, wreaths and bouquets.
The President and Chief Adviser will deliver special messages to the nation, while discussions emphasising the day's significance will be held at district and upazila levels. Special programmes will be aired on Bangladesh Radio, Bangladesh Television, and private TV channels. In addition, religious services and prayers will take place at places of worship across the country. The public has been urged to refrain from using loudspeakers near the memorial to preserve the sanctity of the day.

On December 16, Victory Day will begin with a 31-gun salute at dawn in Dhaka.
Following that, the President and Chief Adviser will lay wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar. Families of the Bir Shreshthas, along with wounded freedom fighters and other distinguished freedom fighters, will pay their tributes, led by Farooq E Azam.
Foreign diplomats, political and social organizations, and the public will also lay wreaths in honour of the martyrs. The President and Chief Adviser will address the nation, and special newspaper supplements and TV programmes will highlight the significance of the day, with month-long broadcasts focusing on the Liberation War.
Various cultural organisations, including the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Bangla Academy, and the National Museum, will host events such as discussions, cultural programmes, drawing competitions, and screenings of Liberation War documentaries. Victory fairs showcasing local crafts will be held across the country.
In the afternoon, the President will host a reception for the families of the Bir Shreshthas at Bangabhaban, and similar receptions will be held for freedom fighters and martyrs' families at the district and upazila levels.
A commemorative postage stamp will be issued, and religious institutions will arrange special prayers for the country's peace and progress. Special meals will be provided at orphanages, hospitals and similar institutions, while children's parks and museums will be open to the public free of charge.
