The three BNP associate organizations -- Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal - staged a long march from Dhaka to Agartala to protest Indian campaign against Bangladesh.

The long march, led by central and local leaders of the organizations, began at the capital's Naya Paltan around 9:00am on Wednesday, reached Akhaura Land Port in Brahmanbaria by 4:00pm and ended peacefully with a brief rally there.

The organizations initiated the long march to protest against the recent attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India, as well as to condemn alleged disrespect toward the national flag and conspiracies against the country.

Our Correspondent from Brahmanbaria reports that to maintain law and order, authorities have deployed a three-tier security system around the land port area. District police, members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the village police were deployed.

BGB's 60th Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col AM Jaber bin Jabbar told media, "A sufficient number of BGB personnel have been deployed at Akhaura land port. Additionally, a reserve force is on standby."

Barricades set up by law enforcement approximately 100-150 yards from the land port's main gate restricted vehicular access. Passengers using the Akhaura International Immigration Police check post were required to walk to their destination.

According to port sources, 28 Bangladeshi and 24 Indian passengers travelled through the immigration checkpoint by 4pm. Passenger traffic was reportedly lower than usual.

Leaders and activists from various districts, including Dhaka, Narayanganj, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, Feni, Noakhali, and Sylhet, joined the programme carrying festoons and national and party flags.

Vehicles of the attendees were parked half a kilometer away from the land port grounds under the coordination of District Juba Dal President Shamim Mollah.

On the way to Akhaura, a rally was organized Bhairab Bus Stand at Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Kishorganj's Bhairab, according to our correspondent from Kishorganj.

Juba Dal President Abdul Munayem Munna presided over the meeting while Swecchasebak Dal President SM Jilani, central Juba Dal general secretary Nurul Islam Nayan, Swecchasebak Dal general secretary Rajib Hasan, central Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir and Kishorganj district BNP President Shariful Alam also spoke.

Speaking at the rally, Munayem Munna said BNP, together with the people of Bangladesh, will foil any plot against the country.

He warned that BNP and its associate bodies would not compromise on the issue of Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty and would resist Indian aggression through united efforts.

Munna also urged Indian politicians and media outlets to stop spreading false information and propaganda about Bangladesh.

Before the long march began, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi addressed a rally in front of the BNP central office in Naya Paltan.
