Police arrested three individuals for their alleged involvement with an incident of gang-raping a student of Pabna Science and Technology University (PSTU).
The arrestees are -- Mehdi Masud, 26, son of Abdul Jalil of Kalachandpara area of Pabna city, Mahmudul Hasan Sajid, 23, son of Motaleb Hossain of Chak Ramchandrapur and Harun-Or-Rashid, 27, son of Jamir Uddin of Oshalgariya Forest Para area.
Officer in-Charge (operation) Sanjay Kumar Saha of Pabna Sadar Police Station said that the victim’s former boyfriend Mehdi Hasan took her to the forest area of Merrill Bypass in the city on the pretext of having tea. From there they took the student to an isolated place nearby and violated her on Monday night.
Victim's mother filed a case with the Pabna Sadar police station in this connection. The accused were arrested from different areas of the city on Tuesday night.
After producing them to the court the arrest persons were sent to jail.
