BIJOYNAGAR, BRAHMANBARIA, Dec 11: Police seized six kilograms of hemp from Bijoynagar Upazila in the district on Wednesday.
Confirming the matter, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bijoynagar Police Station (PS) Moshiur Rahman Khan said that acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in Ward No. 5 Harashpur Southpara area under Harashpur Union and seized the hemp.
The drive targeted a residence named Md Emdadul Haque Mia, 38. However, both Emdadul and another suspect Md Sujon Mia, 25, managed to flee the scene, abandoning the contraband drugs at that time.
A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed with Bijoynagar PS in this regard, the SI added.
