Madaripur UP chairman arrested in three murder cases

MADARIPUR Dec 11: Kutubpur Union Parishad Chairman (UP) and Awami League (AL) leader Atiq Madabar was arrested from his office in Shibchar Upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested him in the morning in connection with two murder cases filed in Dhaka and another in Bogra during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Police and local sources said that UP Chairman Atiq Madabar, also the organizing secretary of Shibchar Upazila AL, was working at Kutubpur UP office in the morning. 
At that time, a team of Madaripur District DB Police arrested him. Atiq Madabar is an accused in three murder cases filed with Gulshan and Badda police stations (PSs) in Dhaka and Shibganj PS in Bogra during the anti-discrimination movement. 

District DB Police Inspector Md Shawkat Jahan confirmed the matter.
