Opener Tamim Iqbal's return to competitive cricket after seven months wasn't remarkable one as the southpaw could score just 11 runs for his side Chattogram in their opening game of the NCL T20 against Rangpur on Wednesday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

He though hit one four and one six in 10 balls. Chattogram eventually were restricted to 132-9 before Rangpur overhauled the target in 16.5 overs for a five-wicket victory.

Tamim last played any competitive game on May 6 in Dhaka Premier League at Fatullah Stadium in Narayanganj. Since then he was out of cricket.

But as he prepares to lead the Fortune Barishal defend the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title, he chose to play this tournament.    —BSS
