A bus driver and a passenger were killed and three others were injured as a gas cylinder of the vehicle exploded while refueling at a station in Laxmipur early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam, 21, a passenger of the bus, and Md Rubel Hossain, 30, the driver.
Around 11:30AM, deputy commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarker and superitendent of Laxmipur Police Station Akter Hossain visited the spot. They ensured of giving finanacial assistance to the victims and also to form probe body.
Eye witnesses said that the gas cylinder of bus exploded while refilling at the Green Leaf CNG filling station in Islam Market area of Laxmipur municipalty, leaving Kamal dead on the spot as his skull was blown off and four others injured.
Later another one died on way to Dhaka for better treatment. Of the injured, one was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the other two sent to Noakhali Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment.
