BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said on Tuesday if elected BNP government will restore accountability as the people's government.
Speaking on virtual platform at the workshop titled "31-point proposals for repairing state structure and public-engagement" at Fun Town Park Auditorium in Cumilla hosted by BNP Training Affairs Committee he said, "If BNP goes to power, country's infrastructure will be named after the martyrs of the July-August revolution."
Tarique Rahman said 31-point programmme for state reforms is an outline of what BNP will do if it goes to power.
He urged the party men to acquaint the people with BNP's reforms programme instead of keeping it to themselves.
If anyone has any objection or suggestion about the 31-point programme BNP will evaluate them, he said.
He said BNP announced the 31-point reform programme when many people did not believe that a dictatorial regime would be ousted.
Tarique urged party men to refrain from controversial activity and work to earn people's trust and confidence.
Tarique said, "You have seen how my mother Begum Khaleda Zia was tortured for taking bold stand for the people. My brother Arafat Rahman embraced martyrdom being repressed by conspirators. The stories of the families of many BNP leaders and activists are similar to that of my family."
Tarique said the fugitive dictator has destroyed the country's education system in last 15 years, the country has been plunged into corruption and a massive amount of money was looted and smuggled out of Bangladesh.
The fascist AL regime spread corruption across the society, he said.
He underscored the need for making the children aware about the menace of corruption from the primary school level in order to save the country.
Tarique also stressed the need for creating skilled human resources by moderniszation of education system.
Students should be made proficient in English along with different subjects and they should be encouraged to take part in sports, he said.
"We want every citizen from primary level to intermediate to develop into a skilled citizen. The citizens of the country should be trained and developed in such a way that they do not get stuck anywhere in the country or abroad and they can establish themselves as skilled manpower all over the world," he said.
In response to a question, BNP acting chairman underlined the need for improving country's public transport system, saying coordinated efforts should be taken to deal with traffic congestion, a major problem of the country especially in the capital Dhaka and Chattogram.
Noting the contribution of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman's family to the country and the people, Tarique Rahman said his father Ziaur Rahman had to embrace martyrdom at the hands of conspirators while working for the welfare of the country and the nation.
He called upon the interim government to hold the next general election quickly saying if a fair election is held BNP will definitely go to power by winning the poll.
He said some men of the fugitive government have taken shelter in India and they will try to create unrest in the country.
"The people of the country stay ready to tackle these conspiracies," he said.
Khandaker Mosharraf said BNP leaders and workers were subjected to various kinds of torture and oppression for the past 16 years.
He said their movement will continue until BNP comes to power.
