Ex-Deputy Chief of DMP Jasim, 3 others suspended

The government has temporarily suspended four police officers including a former deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Jasim Uddin Mollah in connection with International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) cases.

The three other suspended police officers are former additional deputy commissioner (Gulshan Division) Md Rafiqul Islam, former assistant commissioner (Traffic-Jatrabari zone) Tanjil Ahmed and assistant police super (APBn, Uttara) Md Rafiqul Islam.
In this regard, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued four separate notifications signed by Senior Secretary Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen recently.

According to the notifications, they were suspended temporary from government service in the public interest as per the provision of 39 (2) under the section 57 of the Public Service Act, 2018.

It said Jasim Uddin Mollah was arrested on October 30 from Rangpur as the ICT accused him of the case no-04/2024, date October 27, 2024.

Md Rafiqul Islam, Tanjil Ahmed were arrested in separate cases of the 1860 penal code, while Md Rafiqul Islam was arrested under section 143/323/325/302/506/34 penal code.
