Family members and relatives of the victims of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, the 2013 Shapla Chattar incident, Pilkhana killings, and July uprising gathered at a mass rally, demanding justice on the occasion of International Human Rights Day  on Tuesday.

The rally, held in Dhaka's Suhrawardy Udyan around 1:00pm, was attended by family members and relatives of the victims, delegates of the United Nations, local and international human rights defenders, and leaders and activists from various political parties and organisations.

Mayer Daak, a platform representing the families of enforced disappearance victims, organised the programme. The rally will continue until 4:00pm.

The event witnessed the participants carrying photos and placards as they called for justice. Many of the family members who are still unaware of the fate or whereabouts of their loved ones voiced their anguish and demands.

The attendees included families of victims of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, "crossfire" incidents, custodial torture, and deaths, as well as those affected by the 2013 Shapla Chattar incident, Pilkhana mutiny, and the July uprising during the Awami League's tenure.

Many victims injured in the July uprising, including those who lost their eyes or other body parts, also attended the rally.

Prominent leaders from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Hefazat-e-Islam, the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, and Jatiya Nagarik Committee were also present as guests.
