Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on women across Bangladesh to play a central role in building a new and progressive nation.

Speaking at a women’s conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday, he emphasized the critical importance of women’s participation in shaping the country's future.
The event, jointly organized by the Women and Children Affairs Ministry and the Social Welfare Ministry, coincided with Human Rights Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

In his address, Prof. Yunus lauded the resilience and strength of Bangladeshi women, particularly highlighting their courage during the July-August revolution. “The girls of Bangladesh have demonstrated a level of bravery and determination unmatched by their counterparts elsewhere in the world,” he said.

The Chief Adviser proposed a symbolic gesture of empowerment, encouraging all girls in Bangladesh to take to the streets collectively on December 10 in a display of unity and strength.

The conference was chaired by Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid and attended by Women and Children Affairs Secretary Mamtaz Ahmed, alongside young leaders of the July-August revolution. In their speeches, they underscored the importance of education, rights, and activism for women’s advancement in society.

This initiative seeks to foster gender equality and empower women to drive societal transformation in the envisioned "new Bangladesh."
