Farmer dies from snakebite in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, Dec 10:  A farmer died from snakebite in Nazirpur of the district on Sunday night. 

Deceased Sultan Khan 60, son of late Kolam Khan, was a resident of Sheikhmatia Village under the upazila.  

The deceased's son Kawsar Khan said that a venomous snake bit his father while working at his fish farm at night, which left him critically injured.
Sensing the matter, the family members rescued him and rushed to a Bagerhat hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Sultan dead.

Former Union Parishad member Md Babul Khan confirmed the incident.
