Old Dhaka boys beat Mohammedan SC 1-0

Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society, the pride of Old Dhaka, found a 1-0 win over a ten-man Mohammedan Sporting Club in the the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup 2024-25 at the Bashundhara Kings Area in Dhaka on Tuesday. 

It was the first match for both in the Federation Cup. Mohammedan Sporting Club which was in a good mood after beating Bashundhara Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League recently showed a devastating performance against low-budget Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society on the day. 

Both tried hard to open the net but failed until the Old Dhaka boys finally scored in the 82nd minute. It was Rajon Howladar who netted the match winning goal for the Rahmatganj boys. 

However, Mohammedan Sporting Club became a 10-man unit following a direct red card shown to its Jahid Hasan Shanto in the 85th minute. 

In the other match of the tournament on the day, Dhaka Abahani proved its strength over Chittagong Abahani by winning it 3-0. The match was played at the Comilla District Stadium. 

Suman Reza netted one in the 17th minute, Mohammad Ibrahim scored one in the 76th minute while Yeasin Khan nailed Chittagong Abahani's coffin scoring one in the 87th minute.
