Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia hosted a vibrant fresher's orientation for the 2023-24 academic session on Tuesday.
The event, held at Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Central Auditorium, was filled with excitement and celebration as the university welcomed its new students.
IU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah, was the chief guest at the event, while Professor Dr. Choudhury Mahmood Hasan, former vice-chancellor of Manarat International University, served as the orientation speaker. The ceremony also included Professor Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekar, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Gopalgonj, as the guest of honor.
The event featured a range of distinguished guests, including IU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Yeakub Ali, Treasurer Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam, Director General of Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT) Dr. Abdul Aziz, and IU Students’ Adviser Professor Dr. Obayedul Islam, who chaired the session. More than 2,000 fresher’s from various faculties, along with faculty members and staff, attended the orientation.
During the ceremony, the new students were introduced to the university's code of conduct, regulations and support systems, ensuring they were well-prepared for their academic journey.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah encouraged the freshers, emphasizing the importance of their classroom experience and the role of their teachers as guides in their pursuit of knowledge. He spoke about the university’s commitment to offering a specialized educational environment that will help students achieve high standards in their studies.
The orientation served as a motivational event to inspire the incoming batch of students as they begin their academic careers at IU.
