KHULNA, Dec 9: Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen ((Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said here on Monday law enforcement agencies must to stop oiling and not to arrest anyone wearing plain clothes.
"Many fake cases were filed. Action will be taken against fake plaintiff. If fake cases are filed against innocent people to harass then, the victims will be released, he said, adding that "We will bring anyone filing false cases to the book," He made the remarks speaking as the chief guest at a view exchange meeting with Armed Forces Division, Divisional Law Enforcement Agencies, Officers of government departments, religious leaders and representatives of anti-discrimination student movements at the Shilpokola Academy Auditorium in the city.
Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam, Khulna Naval area Commander Rear admiral Golam Sadek, Director General(DG) of BGB Major General Muhammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, DG of RAB A K M Shahidur Rahman, Khulna divisional Commissioner Md Firoz Sarkar, Commander of 105 Infentry Brigade of Bangladesh army Brig Gen Ahmad Tanveer Mazhar Siddiqui, KMP Commissioner Md Zulfiqar Ali Haider, Colonel of DGFI Sayed Asaduzzaman, Khulna Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Saiful Islam and Superintendent of Police T M Mossarraf Hossain, spoke as special guests with Khulna Range DIG Md Rezaul Haque in the chair.
The Adviser asked the law enforcement agencies not to provide extra advantage to any political party and stop taking bribe during recruitment of cops.
He said arms looted from police stations could not be recovered as expected.
He said law and order would be normal only after complete arms recovery.
He asked law enforcement agencies to stop mob justice committed by some taking the law in their own hands.
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, who is also the Agriculture Advisor, said, a neighbouring country took massive facilities from Bangladesh, and they are now making anti-Bangladesh propaganda.
They would not get any undue facilities in future, he said.
He requested journalists to publish the truth to expose anti-Bangladesh propaganda dished out by the Indian media.
Later, the Adviser exchanged views with Divisional Agricultural Officers at the office of the Additional Director of Khulna Agriculture Extension Department.
