Jagannath University (JnU) students submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission and the Vice-Chancellor, demanding that teachers with pro-Awami League ideologies be barred from participating in the Executive Committee Election 2025 of the Jagannath University Teachers' Association.

The students have also requested that nomination papers not be sold to such teachers.

The memorandum, submitted on Sunday (December 8), was signed by representatives of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at JnU, including Abu Bakar Khan, Md. Rakib, Ferdous, Md. Tanzil, Siam Hossain, and Anik Kumar Das.

The document outlines several allegations against teachers affiliated with the pro-Awami Neel Dal, accusing them of opposing the students movement during the "July Revolution" that sought to challenge the alleged authoritarian rule of Sheikh Hasina and her allies.

The memorandum states, "During our struggle for liberation from the oppressive regime, pro-Awami teachers at JnU openly resisted us. On August 4, these teachers formed a public human chain at the university's Shaheed Minar, branding protesters as terrorists and anarchists while calling for their suppression to maintain Hasina's power."
