Begum Rokeya
Day-2024 was observed on Monday across the country in a befitting
manner.
To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Pabna and Pirojpur.
GOPALGANJ:
On this occasion, the district administration and District Department
of Women Affairs organized different programmes in the town.
A
rally was brought out from the deputy commissioner's (DC) office
premises in the morning, and it ended on the Sushashan Chattar after
parading the main streets of the town.
Later on, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the DC office.
Additional DC (ADC) (General) Md Golam Kabir presided over the meeting.
Deputy Director (DD) of District Department of Women Affairs Shreemoyee Bagchi, among others, also spoke at the programme. Later on, five women of the district were awarded as best Joyeeta in five categories.
They
are: Kakali Roy and Hosne Ara Parveen of Tungipara Upazila; Feroza
Begum of Kashiani Upazila; and Swapna Halder and Rani Ojha of Kotalipara
Upazila.

Mohammad Mofizul Islam, Pabna Press Club President ABM Fazlur Rahman,
DD of the Agriculture Department Dr Jamal Uddin and DD of the District
Department of Women's Affairs Rebecca Sultana, among others, also spoke
at the programme.
Besides, seven women of the district were given the best Joyeeta award.
PIROJPUR:
To mark the Day, the district administration and Department of District
Women Affairs jointly organized different programmes in the town.
A
colourful rally was brought out from the premises of Pirojpur Circuit
House in the morning, and it ended on the DC office premises after
parading the main streets of the town.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the DC office conference room.
ADC
(General and ICT) Md Selim Hossain was present as the chief guest while
DD of the District Department of Women Affairs Md Altaf Hossain
presided over the meeting.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Md Mukit Hasan Khan attended the programme as the special guest. Various government officials and NGO activists, among others, were also present at that time.
