Two more people died from dengue and 478 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in the last 24 hours till Monday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of fatalities from the viral fever rose to 531 this year. A total of 96,706 dengue cases have been reported since 1 January.
Among the recent fatalities, one death was reported in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), while another death reported in Dhaka division (outside the city corporations).
Of them, 104 were admitted to hospitals under the DNCC and 88 under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
As of now, 2,113 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 people, making it the deadliest year on record. According to the DGHS, there were 3,21,179 cases and 3,18,749 recoveries in 2023.
