MEHERPUR: A memorial meeting was held in the district on Saturday, recalling the martyrs and the injured of the July-August mass uprising.
Meherpur Sadar Upazila administration organized the event in the conference room of the Sadar Upazila Parishad in the town.
Meherpur Sadar Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muyidur Rahman presided over the meeting.
Agriculture Officer Md Moniruzzaman, Sadar Upazila BNP President Maruf Ahmed Bijon, Sadar Upazila Jamaat Ameer Sohel Rana and its General Secretary Jabbarul Islam, Khandaker Muiz Uddin, an injured person in the anti-discrimination student movement, journalist Dilruba Khatun, District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Coordinator Imtiaz Ahmed and its member Ashif Rabbi, among others, were also present at the programme.
MADARIPUR: A memorial meeting was held in Kalkini Upazila of the district on Saturday, recalling the contribution of the martyrs and injured persons of the July-August mass uprising.
Local administration organized the meeting in the conference room of the Upazila Parishad.
Kalkini UNO Uttam Kumar Das presided over the meeting.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mahbuba Islam, Upazila BNP Convener Bir Muktijoddha Fazlul Haque Bepari, and family members of the martyrs and injured in the July-August mass uprising movement, among others, were also present at that time.
Special prayers were also offered there seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of the martyrs and speedy recovery of the injured ones.
