The stage is set for an epic showdown as Bangladesh takes on India in the grand finale of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium today. The defending champions, the Young Tigers, are brimming with confidence as they aim to retain their title against the formidable Indian team.

Bangladesh showcased consistency throughout the tournament. They defeated Afghanistan by 45 runs and Nepal by five wickets to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Although they suffered a narrow seven-run defeat against Sri Lanka in their final group match, the Boys in Green and Red bounced back emphatically in the semi-finals thrashing Pakistan by seven wickets to seal their place in the final.

India meanwhile, had a shaky start losing their opener to Pakistan by 43 runs. However, they rebounded strongly and secured massive 211-run win over Japan () and 10-wicket victory against the UAE to qualify for the semi-finals. In the second semi-final, India outclassed Sri Lanka by seven wickets to set up the much-anticipated clash with Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim has been in scintillating form amassing 224 runs in four innings including a century and two fifties. Opener Kalam Siddik has been equally impressive scoring 161 runs with two half-centuries. On the bowling front, Al Fahad and Iqbal Hossain Emon lead the wicket-takers' chart with eight wickets each, while Maruf Mridha has been impactful claiming two wickets in both of his outings. Besides, all-rounder Mohammad Shihab James, a member of last year's championship-winning squad, has been a reliable anchor in the middle order and will play a pivotal role in today's encounter.

For India, Ayush Mhatre, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, C. Andre Siddarth, and captain Mohamed Amaan have all been in excellent form with the bat, while bowlers Samarth Nagaraj, Yudhajit Guha and Kiran Chormale have delivered consistently with the ball.

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium is renowned for being a batting-friendly surface, with good carry and pace in the early stages of the game. The venue has witnessed 300-plus scores thrice in the event so far. With clear weather predicted, an uninterrupted match is on the cards. Winning the toss could prove crucial as teams may prefer to bowl first to exploit the early assistance from the pitch.
