Sky blues blank Wanderers Club 1-0

Dhaka Abahani, the traditional sky-blue outfits, celebrated a 1-0 win over Dhaka Wanderers Club in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Cumilla District Stadium on Saturday. Striker Mohammed Sumon Reza scored the match-winning goal. 

Wanderer boys who came to play the Premier League as one of the toppers of the Bangladesh Championship League this season did not experience a good start in the top league football. 

Losing to Mohammedan Sporting Club, another powerhouse of Dhaka football, by 0-6 margin, they already had a devastation start in the BPL. Now, a single goal defeat to Dhaka Abahani was the continuation of that devastating journey. 

Dhaka Abahani who had a 2-0 win in the first match of the league over Fakirerpool Young Men's Club now collected three more points to stack up to six and place third on the point table.
 
In the other matches, Bangladesh Police booked a 4-1 win over Fakirerpool Young Men's Club in Mymensingh while Fortis Football Club and Brothers Union suffered a 1-1 tie in Dhaka. 

Although Bangladesh Police win the match over Fakirerpool Young Men, it was club area team that scored the first goal in the match. 

The 10-minute goal by Uzbekistan striker Akobir Turaev brough joy to the Fakirerpool boys for a while but they could not maintain the lead. A 45-minute goal by Joyonto restored parity for Police. 

Manik took a lead for Police while Al-Amin netted twice, in the 65th and 81st minutes, and made the match theirs.
 
In the 1-1 match, Zakaria netted one for Brothers in the first minute of the match while Omar scored for Fortis in the 18th minute.
