Two motorcyclists lost their lives in a tragic accident caused by dense fog at Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram on Thursday night.
The accident occurred around 2:00 AM on the Bhurungamari-Kurigram road near the Technical College in Joymonirhat union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Rashidul Islam, 40, a rice trader from Kamatangaria village and Kamal Hossain, 38, a businessman from Baldiya union.
According to sources, the two were returning to Bhurungamari from Rangpur after finishing business work. Due to the heavy fog, they lost control of their motorcycle near the Technical College, resulting in the fatal crash. Rashidul died at the scene while Kamal Hossain succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
Bhurungamari Police Station officer-in-charge Monirul Islam confirmed the incident and stated that, since there were no family complaints the bodies were handed over to the families.
