BARISHAL, Dec 6: A housewife reportedly committed suicide out of huff with her husband in Wazirpur Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
Deceased Rima Akhter, 35, was the wife of Dubai expatriate Nazrul Islam Sarder, a resident of Kangshi Village under Sholak Union in the upazila. She was the mother of three children and daughter of Ali Ahmed Hawlader of Gabbari Village under Borakotha Union in the upazila.
It was known that Rima Akhter had an altercation with her husband over money while talking on mobile phone on Tuesday night. Following this, she consumed poison out of huff with her husband.
Neighbours found her body in the house at around 6 am on Wednesday and informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge of Wazirpur Model Police Station Md Abdus Salam confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken if any written complaint is received from the deceased's family.
