The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken foolproof security measures alongside maintaining law and order on the occasion of the to be observed on December 14 and 16 respectively.
A coordination meeting was held in this regard at the DMP headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday.
DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjad Ali presided over the meeting.
He hoped that everyone will properly perform their professional duties to celebrate the Victory Day amid festivity.
He said necessary security plans should be sorted out and implemented in all places where people are likely to gather on Victory Day.
DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presented the overall security plan adopted for the upcoming Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day through a PowerPoint presentation.
Apart from these, Deputy Police Commissioners of the concerned Traffic Department presented their traffic plans at the meeting.
Representatives of concerned intelligence agencies, Public Safety and Security Services Divisions, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Department of Health, Dhaka north and south city corporations, Dhaka WASA, Fire Service, various government service organizations and senior officials of DMP gave valuable opinions and suggestions to make the two days security foolproof.
