Athens, Greece – December 5: The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Greece Nahida Rahman Shumona hosted an insightful and engaging educational session for the students of Filothei Preliminary School of Athens in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities (PWDs) and promote their inclusion in society.
The session provided the young students with a unique opportunity to learn about the daily experiences and obstacles encountered by PWDs. In a heartfelt address, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of empathy, understanding, and support for creating an inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of their abilities.
Dr Eleftheria Koumeki, a renowned School Psychologist, was invited to lead an interactive discussion with the students. Dr Koumeki shared her expertise and insights on how to foster inclusivity and support PWDs in their communities. She emphasized the significance of recognizing the strengths and potential of individuals with disabilities and the need for inclusive education and social practices.
