Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a fugitive convict, who was earlier sentenced to a life term in a drug case, from a hotel in Thakurgaon district town along with 159 bottles of phensedyl Thursday.
"On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Company-1 from Dinajpur Camp arrested him from Zaher Residential Hotel in Thakurgaon," a press release issued here by Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 ASP Md Omar Faruk said, BSS reports.
The elite force also seized 159 bottles of banned illegal narcotics Phensedyl from the possession of the arrestee during the raid.
The arrested convict was identified as Md Jasim Howlader, 44, son of Abdus Sobhan, of village Chhoto Gourichanna under Barguna Sadar upazila in Barguna district.
"After filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 against the arrested person, the elite force handed him over to Thakurgaon Sadar police station for further legal action," the release added.
