Bangladesh triumphed by 101 runs in the second Test of the two-match series against the West Indies at Sabina Park, Jamaica, on Wednesday and shared the trophy 1-1.

Resuming on overnight's 193 for five, Bangladesh added 75 more runs to their second-innings total to finish at 268. Night-watchman Taijul Islam, who was unbeaten on nine, managed just five more runs. While wickets tumbled at one end, Jaker Ali counter-attacked brilliantly from the other. Resuming on 29, the wicketkeeper-batter played a career-best knock of 91 falling just nine runs short of his maiden Test century.

For the West Indies, Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach each claimed three wickets, with Shamar Joseph taking two. Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales picked up a wicket apiece.

Chasing 287, the West Indies faltered early as opener Mikyle Louis fell for six. Keacy Carty contributed 14 before skipper Kraigg Brathwaite (43) and Kavem Hodge (55) staged a brief resistance. However, the rest of the batting order crumbled and the hosts were all out for 185. Justin Greaves added a useful 20 but couldn't prevent the Caribbean ship from sinking.

Taijul was the star of the show with the ball claiming five for 50, which is his 15th Test five-wicket haul. Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed chipped in with two wickets each, while Nahid Rana took the remaining one.

Earlier in the match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first, were bowled out for 164 in their first innings. Shadman Islam top-scored with 64, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shahadat Hossain Dipu contributed 36 and 22 runs respectively.

Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph bagged three wickets each for the hosts, while Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph shared the remaining scalps.

In response, the West Indies managed only 146 runs in their first innings. Nahid Rana's maiden five-wicket haul, with a figure of five for 61 tore through the lineup, while Hasan Mahmud took two wickets and Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz each chipped in with one.

Taijul Islam was named Player of the Match for his match-winning spell, while Taskin Ahmed was adjudged Player of the Series for his outstanding all-round contributions taking 11 wickets and scoring 23 runs across the series.
