INDURKANI, PIROJPUR, Dec 4: A minor child drowned in a pond in Indurkani Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Sutibaria Village under Indurkani Sadar Union of the upazila at around 11 am.
The deceased was identified as Md Arman, 2, son of Md Alamin, a resident of the same village.
According to the deceased's family members, Arman slipped into a pond while he was playing beside it. Finding nowhere, relatives started searching for him and found his body floating in the water.
The family members then rescued Arman and took to a nearby hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
