Bangladesh achieved their first Test win in the West Indies in 15 years with a commanding 101-run victory in the second Test at Sabina Park, Kingston.

The victory leveled the two-match series 1-1, marking a significant milestone for the team.
Jaker Ali's career-best knock of 91 in the second innings set the stage for a competitive total of 268, leaving the West Indies with a challenging target of 287. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam delivered a stellar performance, claiming 5 for 50 in the fourth innings to dismantle the hosts, who were bowled out for 185 in their chase. This was Taijul's 15th five-wicket haul in Tests, underlining his vital role in the team's success.

Fast bowler Nahid Rana, who had earlier taken his maiden five-wicket haul in the first innings, sealed the match by dismissing last man Shamar Joseph with a pinpoint yorker. His contributions, along with those of Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud, proved decisive.

Stand-in captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz praised the collective effort of the bowling unit, emphasizing their discipline and impact.

"We have played almost 25 years of Test cricket, and this win is special. We need to keep improving in certain areas, but the way the boys played was commendable. Despite being bowled out for 164 in the first innings, we remained positive," Miraz said during the post-match presentation.

Highlighting individual performances, Miraz added, "Taijul was outstanding in the second innings. He’s been a key player for us for over a decade, taking more than 200 wickets. Fast bowling has also been a process for us, and we’re seeing the results with bowlers like Taskin, Nahid, and Hasan stepping up."

Taskin Ahmed emerged as the leading wicket-taker of the series, with 11 scalps across two matches. His contributions, alongside those of the other bowlers, ensured a memorable victory for Bangladesh, demonstrating the growing depth and capability of their bowling attack.

This historic win not only ends a 15-year drought in the Caribbean but also reflects the team’s resilience and potential in challenging overseas conditions.
