The government on Tuesday made Election Commission Secretary Shafiul Azim an officer on special duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Public Administration.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Tuesday announcing the decision, which was made under the authority of the President and in the public interest.
The directive, signed by Deputy Secretary Jamila Shabnam, is effective immediately, ensuring Azim assumes his new responsibilities without delay.
Earlier, Shafiul Azam served as the managing director (additional secretary) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
He started his career in the 15th BCS Admn cadre in 1995. He also served as the deputy director at the Public Administration Training Institute at Savar. Before joining Biman, he served as the additional secretary at the Cabinet Division.
