A housewife committed suicide by burning herself at Singra upazila in Natore district on Monday.
The housewife succumbed to her injuries at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital at around 8:00am.
The deceased was identified as Sahida Begum, 55, wife of Mokhlesur Rahman, a resident of Sougram in the upazila.
Earlier, at around 11:00am on Monday, Sahida Begum burnt herself by pouring petrol on her body, leaving her critically injured.
Locals rescued her and taken to upazila health complex after hearing her screams.
Later, she was transferred to Rajshai Medical College Hospital where she died at night.
Although the source of the fire could not be clear yet, she might have tried to kill herself by the fire.
Md Asmaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station, said, " We have not got any allegation in this matter. Legal procedures will be taken after receiving allegations."
