A protest procession and rally were held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia to protest against the attack on the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Agartala, Tripura, India.

The procession, organized by the 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement', started from Zia Mor around 10:00  pm on Monday (02 December).
The procession marched around various roads on campus. After the procession, a protest rally was held in front of the main gate of the university.  IU 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement' coordinator SM Sweet, co-coordinators Naheed Hasan, Hasanul Bannah Wali, Tanvir Mandal, other co-coordinators and general students were present at the event.

SM Sweet, IU 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement' coordinator said, "We achieved independence in 1971 through the sacrifice of thousands of students and people. One of our main demands in the 1971 mass uprising was to be free from Indian aggression. In recent days, India has taken advantage of Hasina. We do not want to be slaves to any other country. We have no relation with those who cannot give up their love for India at the cost of our existence. We have overthrown the autocratic Hasina. The struggle of students and people against Indian dominance will continue. We want everyone to join this struggle."

It is noteworthy that on Monday, an attack and vandalism took place at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission office in Agartala, India. 1  It is reported that supporters of a Hindu extremist group carried out this attack. Later, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement expressing regret over the attack and vandalism.
