DU admin urges all to maintain communal harmony

The Dhaka University (DU) administration on Saturday night held a virtual meeting with leaders of various student organisations and urged them to prevent religious incitement, maintaining social and communal harmony and combating misinformation on social media.

Presiding over the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan requested the student leaders to play a responsible role in any situation and emphasised the importance of raising public awareness to maintain social and communal peace.

The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Sayema Haque Bidisha, Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed, Convener of Provost Standing Committee Abdullah-Al-Mamun and student leaders of various organisations including Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Socialist Student Front and Revolutionary Student Unity, among others.
