Seminar on Physics education held at Atomic Energy Centre

The inaugural session of the seminar titled "Physics Education in the Secondary and Higher Secondary Levels," organized by the Bangladesh Physical Society, was held at the Atomic Energy Centre, Dhaka recently. 

The Chief Guest was Prof. Dr. M. Aminul Islam, Special Assistant (State Minister) to the Chief Advisor, Ministry of Education, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Akbar, President of the Bangladesh Physical Society and Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission.

The Vice President of the Bangladesh Physical Society, Professor Dr. A. K. M. Akhter Hossain, delivered the welcome address.
 
Following this, Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Akbar, President of the Society, emphasized that the seminar on "Physics Education in the Secondary and Higher Secondary Levels" would play a significant role in resolving the current challenges in education. He pointed out that at the secondary and higher secondary levels, students learn the fundamental concepts of science, particularly the laws of physics, which form the foundation for their future education and professional careers. He also expressed the importance of improving the quality of physics education for developing future scientists and engineers. 

The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. M. Aminul Islam, Special Assistant (State Minister) to the Chief Advisor stated that the current government is working towards improving the quality of education and that the education system will be reformed based on the feedback of teachers, researchers, educators, experts, and stakeholders. He also mentioned that efforts are being made to utilize the expertise of retired Bangladeshi scientists and researchers abroad for the country's development. He mentioned that, they already started working on the development and overall progress on various levels of the education system under the leadership of the Chief Advisor of the interim government.

 Finally, Professor Dr. Ratan Chandra Gosh expressed gratitude and thanked the Chief Guest and all attendees, concluding the event.
