The High Court on Sunday (December 1) acquitted all the accused, including BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and former state minister Lutfozzaman Babar, in August 21 grenade attack case.
BNP has expressed satisfaction at the ruling.
Addressing a press conference at the central office of BNP at Nayapaltan in the capital on Sunday, party's senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said justice was established through the High Court judgement in August 21 grenade attack case. Using the statecraft illegally, Awami League punished Tarique Rahman and others. The Appellate Division pronounced real judgement.
He said, "Awami League government's had an attitude of punishing Tarique Rahman and other leaders of BNP forcibly using the statecraft."
"BNP long struggle for justice has been reflected on the judgement," he said.
Rizvi also observed that the Indian government cannot digest the ouster of Sheikh Hasina from power in Bangladesh. Finding no other alternatives, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and their cohorts have indulged in conspiracies. "Such an attitude of India amounts to interference in the internal affairs of Bangladesh and threat to the country's independence and sovereignty."
The press conference was also attended by BNP's joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon and Habib un Nabi Sohel.
