Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially introduced 'Dana-36,' the mascot for the 11th edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) during a vibrant ceremony on Sunday.
The unveiling was part of 'Youth Festival 2025,' hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Dana-36, a bold and dynamic symbol, reflects the spirit of freedom, unity and the collective energy of Bangladesh's sports enthusiasts. It's design also pays homage to the nation's recent student movements and political transformations, aiming to connect with a younger, more socially conscious audience.
The event, held in a festive atmosphere, was attended by key figures, including chief guest Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Local Government. Other dignitaries included BCB President Faruque Ahmed and Bangladesh Football Federation President Tabith Awal. Members of the men's and women's national cricket teams along with school and college students, further enlivened the occasion.
The ceremony turned into a heartwarming reunion of cricketing generations, with national team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto sharing moments with former captains Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim. The women's cricket team also marked their presence, underscoring the inclusivity of the event.
BCB President Faruque Ahmed expressed optimism that Dana-36 would enhance the BPL's global identity while inspiring fans to rally behind their teams. "This mascot symbolizes not just the game but the unity and passion of our nation," he remarked.
The BPL, one of the most anticipated cricket tournaments in Bangladesh, is set to kick off with high expectations, and Dana-36 promises to bring a fresh energy to the competition.
